My Cultural Bag By: Skylar T. My family is super, important to me and they are very supporting and helpful to me. I love them so much and they have helped me through so much. But there are other things in my life that are important, and have helped out a lot. Hear are a few of them. The first is my bear bank. It is gold and silver, and so very shiny. When the sun sets over looming and towering mountains, the red, orange, and yellow color, it shines off of it. Every time I see money, I put it in my bank, and the only noise I hear is “clink, clink, clink”, as it goes down into the darkness of the bear. And I’m so surprised that it’s still intact, from all of the years I’ve had it. The bank has rough feeling bumps all over it. I love my bear bank, and so happy that my grandma gave it to me! Every year my family and I, go out and get a brand new ornament. Whether it’s blue, or red. Or sparkly, and feathery. We get a new one that has some sort of meaning to our family. Like one year we got a soccer ball one because our family likes to play soccer. Another one was ski boots because our family skis every year. And some are smooth, but others are rough feeling. Some even have loud ringing bells on them. I can’t wait to see which one our family gets this year! This is tradition for our family. Once, when I was five, my dad got me some very pretty pink flowers for one of my dance recitals. They were in a beautiful violet colored vase, with dark purple lase around the edge. The clothed vase felt so soft on my delicate hands. They smelt somewhat like clouds in a sky. But what was so special about them is that my dad got fake ones so they would last forever! And this shows my family appreciates me. My aunt got me a warm, fuzzy blanket for me when I was born. On it, has my full name Skylar Anne Tartz, it also has my birthday, May 26 1999, sewed on it.
